Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson #11

You are the GREATEST, aren’t you? You are focusing on you and attracting all the wonderful things you deserve. You are enlightened about your Divinity as God only creates the Divine. Think thoughts of abundance and be amazed at what shows up for you. Referring to Lesson #2 will help you as it is all about clearing your thoughts to keep you focused on the positives. This is your year. It’s all about you and being the person you want to be. I have my own sign that people bought me that I put on my refrigerator: It’s All About Me! You have achieved your weight loss goals. Remember to think of it in terms that it has already happened because the brain does not know the difference between what is real and what is imagined. This is exactly what athletes do!
Wayne Dyer has an interesting cell phone message that he created. It goes something like this: You have reached Wayne Dyer and I want to feel good. If your message is designed to do anything other than make me feel good, you have reached the wrong number. Pretty powerful, right? You can create these same conditions. Surround yourself with positive people, positive experiences and keep doing those daily affirmations. If you find that you’re attracting something that you don’t want, then step back and look at your thoughts and ask “Why am I attracting this?”
This particular lesson I want to focus on having a great relationship with an ex-spouse or ex-significant other. Some of you may be in this position or know someone who is, and I’m here to tell you that it is possible!! We want to feel good, don’t we?
A few years ago my ex-husband and I decided to end our marriage and begin our lives as single people. We don’t look at our marriage as a failure, but rather as something that we attracted because we had lessons to learn and we showed up for each other to learn those valuable lessons. It took a few short months for us to work through anger and hurt, but we have transcended those negative emotions. I could truly not exist with having anger towards him. That would keep me stuck and hold things in my body and “I want to feel good!” I have forgiven him, and more importantly, I have forgiven myself. We have a wonderful relationship as friends, and I am grateful to him for the lessons he taught me. One of the lessons he taught me was to stand up for myself. I became my mom as she experienced the same lesson with my dad. In all of us we carry DNA patterns and Rapid Eye Technology is wonderful for clearing these patterns.
I recently took my ex-husband out to dinner for his birthday and people would be baffled by our conversation. We talked about our dating experiences and did a lot of belly laughing as a result. He has been dating for much longer than I have and so had more to share. Nonetheless, we could truly be happy for each other and want the best for each other as well.
If you’re intent is to feel good, but you’re still holding on to anger, how can you accomplish that goal? Get out lesson #5 which focuses on forgiveness. I’m including a visualization exercise from Louise Hay, You Can Heal Your Life. I extend gratitude to Louise as she has helped me more than she can ever possibly know.
Here’s the exercise. Have someone read this to you or put it on tape and listen to it so you can close your eyes and truly act as if they are in the room with you.
“Begin to visualize yourself as a little child of five or six. Look deeply into this little child’s eyes. See the longing that is there and realize that there is only one thing this little child wants from you, and that is love. So reach out your arms and embrace this child. Hold hi/her with love and tenderness. Tell him/her how much you love him/her, how much you care. Admire everything about this child and say that it’s okay to make mistakes while learning. After all, mistakes are God’s way of saying choose a different path. Promise that you will always be there no matter what. Now let this child get very small, until he/she is just the size to fit into your heart. Put him/her there so whenever you look down, you can see this little face looking up at you, and you can give him/her lots of love.
Now visualize your mother as a little girl of four or five, frightened and looking for love and not knowing where to find it. Reach out your arms and hold this little girl and let her know how much you love her, how much you care. Let her know she can rely on you to always be there, no matter what. When she quiets down and begins to feel safe, let her get very small, just the size to fit into your heart. Put her there with your own little child. Let them give each other lots of love.
Now imagine your father as a little boy of three or four, frightened, crying and looking for love. See the tears rolling down his face when he doesn’t know where to turn. You have become good at comforting frightened little children, so reach out your arms and hold his trembling little body. Comfort him. Let him feel how much you love him. Let him feel that you will always be there for him.
When his tears are dry, and you feel the love and peace in his little body, let him get very small, just the size to fit into your heart. Put him there so those three little children can give each other lots of love and you can love them all.”
I’m going to now add your ex-spouse or ex-significant other to this visualization.
Now picture your ex-spouse or ex-significant other as a little child of four or five, frightened and looking for love and not knowing where to find it. He/she is so scared and cries for someone to love him/her. You reach out your arms and in that loving, comforting way hold him/her close to you. Let him/her know you will always be there. Dry his/her tears and let him/her get very small, just the size to fit into your heart. Put him/her there so all of you children can be comforted and give each other lots of love.
Back to the end of the Louise Hay visualization.
“There is so much love in your heart that you could heal the entire planet. But just for now let us use this love to heal you. Feel a warmth beginning to glow in your heart center, a softness, a gentleness. Let this feeling begin to change the way you think and talk about yourself.”
Remember, according to Marianne Williamson, “All behavior is either a call or love or extension of love.” Extend love to yourself and then to all those around you, including your ex’s. It will be remarkable how you feel and then manifest wonderful things as a result. Holding on to anger serves no purpose, other than to create destructive things in your body like extra weight. Remember, your intent is to feel good. When you feel good, you feel God!!
You are the most incredible person and I’m so grateful that you’re in my life. God has given me the gift of you!!

Treadmill Weight Loss Tips
08.08.05 (2:23 am) [edit]

Treadmill Weight Loss Tips by Gary Gresham
These treadmill weight loss tips are a great way to help you shed a few pounds and shape up. A treadmill is designed for the most natural form of exercise which is walking. You don't need any special skills to use these machines because if you can walk, you can exercise on a treadmill.
Treadmill weight loss is one of the most successful methods of losing weight. Just be consistent and work within your fat burning target range for 45 minutes or more per session at least 5 to 6 days per week.
If you are looking to shed unwanted pounds, implement a treadmill workout routine along with a sensible, healthy diet. The treadmill allows you the convenience of exercising in a safe, comfortable, climate controlled environment anytime day or night.
If you are just starting out, check with your doctor before you begin any exercise regime. When you begin, start at a nice, easy pace, do shorter workouts for a few weeks and increase the length and intensity as your fitness level improves.
The main thing to keep in mind is to keep your body moving for as long and fast as you can but still remain comfortable. The faster the pace the more calories you will burn. The more calories you burn, the more weight you will lose.
Regular exercise on a treadmill will increase your body's metabolism and make it work more efficiently to burn more fat. The best treadmill workout plan is one that becomes a daily habit, just like brushing your teeth.
If you do a treadmill workout routine everyday you don't have to think about it, and it becomes a good habit. It soon becomes part of your normal day and you look forward to it. Consistency is the key to success.
Here are some important tips to remember when walking:
1. Maintain a proper posture, keep you head up, relax your neck, and look straight ahead. 2. Let your arms swing naturally at your side and loosely cup your hands. 3. Hold your tummy in and keep your hips relaxed and loose. 4. Take steps that are comfortable for you, not too short or too long. 5. Concentrate on your breathing. Try to breathe normally, taking in deep, smooth breaths.
A few good tips to help break the boredom while exercising on the treadmill are:
1. Listen to up beat music, books on tape or teaching tapes. 2. Read a book or magazine. 3. Chat with a friend on the treadmill next to you. 4. Watch yourself in the mirror to work on your posture and walking technique. 5. Watch your favorite talk show or sitcom.
Walking a treadmill to lose weight will consistently provide you with quality results and lasting benefits. It allows you to work at your own pace to burn calories effectively.
If you apply these treadmill weight loss tips they will have a positive impact on your weight loss as well as many other aspects of your life.

The key to fatloss
08.01.05 (11:52 pm) [edit]

The key to fatloss by James Emanuel FCFI, FTA, Dip PT

Within the next couple of years a third of all adults in the UK will be clinically obese it is no wonder Personal Training caters mainly for the clients with weight loss goals. Morph it trainers are very familiar and knowledgeable in Weight management, cohering exercise with nutrition and focusing on eating the correct foods at the correct time.
Many people want to lose fat and eat healthily but don’t know how, sidetracked by food companies that make claims on health and healthy eating which are untrue. Your Boost trainer with give you a straight forward approach on what to eat and what not to!
In order to lose bodyfat, you have to put yourself in a slight caloric deficit, increase your activity level, and crank up your metabolism so your body burns more total calories each day. There are 3 very efficient ways to turn up your metabolism - gain more muscle mass (because muscles are more energy hungry than fat!) through weight training, engage in high intensity interval training, and finally, eat more often!
When we say "eat more often", not "eat more". Lets relate your body to an old style coal furnace, like they used to have on steam engines. The more coal you put in, the hotter the fire burns, and the faster the steam engine goes. Your body is JUST like that! The more food you put in, the faster your metabolism goes. Hence why eating less eg. the starvation diet does not work!) So anyway, what's the catch?
The catch is that just like the coal furnace described above, there is only so much ROOM for coal in the furnace. If you put in more than is needed, the system chokes up, slows down, and may eventually even need to be restarted. Well, although your body will hopefully never actually need to be restarted, you DO have to play by the rule of only putting in so many calories at any given time. In fact its true that if you eat tree large meals a day you may gain weight, but if you eat 5 small portions a day while sticking to your daily kcal allowance you can lose weight!

ExpertFast Weight Loss Programs – The importance of low body-fat levels! by Greg Ryan- High Profile Fitness
My name is Greg Ryan and I am a high profile fitness expert. In twenty years of being a personal trainer and health club consultant, I am frightened at how fast the health of Americans is deteriorating. You are being eaten alive from the inside out by diabetes, heart disease and obesity. And the scary thing is either you do not know it YET, or you are in denial of the problem.
You have a choice to make and you better make it soon, before it’s too late. Is this a scare tactic? You bet it is! I am very tired of patting people on the back who walk into my clinics and want something for nothing. I’m frustrated with listening to people make excuses for not exercising and eating right. Your weight gain and high body fat levels will comes down to three things; denial, pride and laziness.
My responsibility as a high profile fitness expert lies not in if you like me, or even if you buy my e books. My responsibility lies in giving you straight talk. You want quick fixes to your health problem that has taken years to develop. You think you get them by purchasing gimmicks that promise you fast results. You fall for it, and at the end of the day you are more frustrated than every. Why? Because you are denying the root of your problems.
Promises in fast weight loss programs is part of the problem with Americans having high percentages of body fats. People, they do NOT work! Quit wasting your money on a false hope! The ONLY way of dropping good weight (fat) is to balance your lifestyle with, exercise and better eating.
NEWS FLASH: The problem with Americans body fat levels is not with the exercise programs out there, it is the lack of fitness experts helping you with your approach combined with lack of responsibility.
Body-fat is the over all percent of muscle to your body weight. If you are close to thirty percent you are clinically considered to be obese. Over forty percent of you are obese. And sixty percent of you are over weight just asking to get diabetes.
Do you know if you just lower your body fat levels 5 percent you will decrease your chances of heart disease, diabetes, strokes by half? Not to mention the greater quality of life you will live. Is your image of yourself so bad that you would rather be fat than to feel good?
Here are the main ways to lower your body fat levels:
#1: Lower your fat intake in your daily diets. #2: Get a full balanced exercise program started: walking, weight training, and stretching. #3: Take basic vitamins #4: Lower stress levels #5: Quit making excuses
So I ask of you, I beg of you, start exercising today. Make better choices in your food groups. If you need help I can help. www.resolutions.bz

What are the benefits of the low-carb diet?
07.26.05 (5:46 am) [edit]

What are the benefits of the low-carb diet? by Christine Edwards
Are you one of those who hate dieting? Well, you are not alone, almost all of us hate the deprivation from food that dieting brings to us. Aside from the fact that our parents raise us to believe that food intake is necessary to keep us energetic, especially carbohydrates. Potatoes and breads are the essential members of our diet from morning, noon and night. Therefore, we resent the idea that carbohydrates are not good for us.
However, your thinking might change upon reading the low-carb diet overview. In the low-carb diet overview, you will learn that energy does not come from carbohydrates alone. Low-carb diet overview will also tell you that good fats convert to energy much like carbohydrates, as we know it to be. Low-carb diet overview will likewise tell you about the recommended carbohydrates like whole grain, fruits and vegetables. However, you should minimize intake of carbohydrates to as low as 10% of your total calorie intake. If you can maintain your consumption of carbohydrates to as low as 10% of your calorie intake, you should eat more fats and moderate protein. Then, the low-carb diet overview will be the best tool to compliment your weight loss regimen and avoid jumping on the obese bandwagon.
The low-carb diet overview will explain how you can best manage your weight. In contrast with the belief that carbohydrates are necessary to build your energy profile, fat may replace carbohydrates in this arena.
You will also learn from the low-carb diet overview that it is the best diet for obese individuals. Diabetics may also use the low-carb diet overview to combat the cause of obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, hypoglycemia and type II diabetes because studies show that low-carb diet attacks the condition called hyperinsulinemia. Hyperinsulinemia is a condition where insulin levels in the blood are elevated.
It may also be helpful knowledge you will get from low-carb diet overview is the advantages one will get from low-carb diet. Sustained weight loss is one advantage of low-carb diet. Another advantage you will learn from low-carb diet overview and low-card dieting is stable blood sugar, this is specifically important for diabetics and those people prone to diabetes. If you have a relative who is a diabetic, then you are one of those people prone to diabetes. Low cholesterol level is also an advantage of low-carb dieting. Some low-card dieters also report being more energetic than their counterparts who are not dieting.
Finally, here are some basic guidelines you will get from the low-carb diet overview. You should limit your carbohydrates intake to 10% or less of your total calorie intake. You will also find the list of allowed foods, you will also find the list of foods to avoid and foods with hidden sugar in the low-carb diet overview. Avoiding food containing sugar and white flour is also part of the low carb diet. Avoiding caffeine and drinking lots of clean and clear water also help in the dieting process. Taking fiber supplements and vitamin will help during the initial stage of low-carb dieting, you will understand this need better upon reading the low-carb diet overview.
Low-carb dieting is good for everyone who wants to loose weight, so try it to experience a trim lifestyle. However, when you finally decide to try it, after reading the low-carb diet overview, visit your health care professional just to be sure that low-carb dieting is really, what you need.

Good Nutrition and Weight Control the Key To A Healthy Life, Australian Medical Association
07.25.05 (2:23 am) [edit]
Good Nutrition and Weight Control the Key To A Healthy Life, Australian Medical Association
25 Jul 2005
AMA (Australian Medical Association) President, Dr Mukesh Haikerwal, said today that GPs are a good first port of call for people concerned about nutrition and diet, and encouraged anyone concerned about their weight to talk to their family doctor.
Dr Haikerwal made the comments during the Federal AMA's 13th Family Doctor Week (FDW). The theme this year is GPs are Lifesavers.
Dr Haikerwal said the rate of obesity is on the rise in Australia with half of all Australian adults weighing in overweight or obese.
“Around a third of children are overweight or obese. If current trends continue half of all young Australians will be overweight by 2025,” Dr Haikerwal said.
“With the very public battle against obesity there's been a rise in the number of fad diets and weight loss programs.
“But it's really important that people get good information before starting a new eating plan and the family GP can provide support and advice.
“Different diets suit different people. It's important to enjoy what you eat - that way you're more likely to stick to a diet. A diet needs to be sustainable in the long term. Your family doctor can help you sort out what will suit your needs best.
“Not all diets and eating regimes are supported by scientific evidence, so it's important that people also get help to wade through the information and sort fact from fiction.
“A recent comparison of popular diets, including Atkins, The Zone and Weight Watchers, shows these programs can certainly help people lose weight, but only if they stick to the regime for a sustained period of time.
“Some diets include very strict eating plans with very little variety. It's no wonder people have trouble going the distance.
“Some diets are quite complex, and depend on in-depth knowledge for their success. Popular low carbohydrate diets are a good example. Some people have lost weight but others find the diet difficult to stick to,” Dr Haikerwal said.
Survey results published in the Medical Journal of Australia showed that many people were not able to identify all carbohydrate rich foods, not realising that soft drinks, alcohol, lollies and cheese could be classified as carbohydrates.
Facts
* 2.4 million adult Australians are obese (16 per cent men; 17 per cent women) - Body Mass Index (BMI) 30 and above
* additional 4.9 million Australian adults are overweight with BMI above 25, but below 30 (42 per cent men; 25 per cent women)
* Waist circumference is an independent risk factor for Type 2 , coronary heart disease and other health problems
* 27 per cent of men and 34 per cent of women over 25 in Australia are abdominally obese (waste circumference of more than 102cm in men and 88cm in women) in 2000
* Additional 28 per cent of men and 22 per cent of women are abdominally overweight (waist circumference of more than 94cm in men and 80cm in women).
2001 National Household Survey - Australia's Health 2004 (AIHW)
* Childhood obesity in Australia has been estimated to be rising at an annual rate of 1 per cent, meaning half of all young Australia's will be overweight by the year 2025
* 14.3 per cent of boys and 16.4 girls (ages 2-14) were overweight
* additional 3.7 per cent of boys and 5.6 per cent of girls considered to be obese.
National Nutrition Survey - Australia's Children 2005 (AIHW)
“People should be eating more fresh fruit and vegies and fewer packaged foods, which are often very high in fats, salt and sugars,” Dr Haikerwal said.
“And people wanting to lose weight should be doing more regular exercise, but start slowly and work up to more rigorous activities.
“As a rule, most things in moderation,” Dr Haikerwal said.
There will be a range of FDW activities co-ordinated out of the Federal and State AMA offices. For more details call Kristen Connell on 02 6270 5439 or 0409 070 346. An image of this year's FDW poster is available on the AMA's website http://www.ama.com.au" title="http://www.ama.com.au" target="_blank"http://www.ama.com.au.

Are You Overweight Because You're Not Sleeping Enough?
07.21.05 (8:44 pm) [edit]
|
Are You Overweight Because You're Not Sleeping Enough? by Tracy Lee
If you're like me, you probably wish that there was a way for you to lose weight without having to put in much effort, right?
Everyone knows the importance of exercise and how it helps us with weight loss, but on some days don't we all wish we can just sleep in bed and lose weight at the same time?
Well, I've got some great news for you...
Sleep is a critical part of your weight loss program!
This is a little-known fact, but did you know that sleep can affect your weight? Rather, it's the lack of sleep that can make you put on unnecessary weight. You may actually lose more weight if only you were to sleep more every day. What an intriguing thought, isn't it?
In a review of several studies examining the impact of sleep on the regulation of metabolism, Dr. Eve Van Cauter, Professor and Research Associate at the University of Chicago, noted that the association between hormones and sleep was identified more than 30 years ago when it was reported that adult men secrete growth hormone during the early phase of sleep. Since then, research has indicated a harmful effect of sleep loss on the endocrine system and glucose modulation.
One study examined the effect of sleep debt and sleep recovery on hormone concentrations and glucose tolerance in healthy males ages 18-27. One week of sleep restriction produced dramatic results: a 30 percent slower response to both the glucose tolerance test and acute insulin response compared with results in rested subjects. Sleep deprivation also raised the 24-hour cortisol profile.
Another study found that sleep deprivation resulted in 30 percent lower levels of leptin. Amazingly, the effect is similar to that observed with caloric restriction (3,000 calories over 3 days), signaling a negative energy balance.
A more recent study examined the effect of 10 vs. 4 hours of sleep on appetite. Subjects who slept 4 hours were always hungry and craved starchy, sweet, and salty foods. These results suggest that sleep deprivation produces a signal mimicking negative energy balance, inducing people to eat and thereby predisposing to obesity.
These results indicate an association between sleep debt and obesity. Sleep deprivation would affect glucose tolerance and leptin levels and increase the appetite for unhealthy foods. She noted that sleep restriction would have greater impact on obese individuals, who have higher leptin levels to begin with, and on older adults.
Dr. Van Cauter also noted that the studies were performed in males only. Because females have higher baseline levels of some hormones (e.g. leptin), sleep restriction might have worse effects in women than in men.
Hey, did you notice the groups which were mentioned specifically in the last 2 paragraphs that may be more severely affected by sleep deprivation? I'll recap them here again: (1) obese individuals, (2) older adults, and (3) women.
That's really crucial for us because this means if you're a woman over 40, not getting enough sleep will probably make you feel hungry constantly and crave for all the unhealthy foods even more as compared to other people. And the more overweight you are, the more you may be affected by the lack of sleep.
Not surprisingly, another study has indeed found an inverse relationship between increased body mass index (BMI) and sleep duration in women. That is, women who do not sleep enough tend to be more overweight than women who get sufficient sleep.
And just in case you still believe in the myth that "Oh, it's alright because I'll catch up on my sleep on the weekends", you should note that Dr. Van Cauter also made the following observation: Sleep debt is generally not paid back fully by weekend sleep. I suppose this is kind of like the saying "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away" -- eating 7 apples on Sunday instead of 1 a day just isn't going to give you the same results!
Now, I'm _not_ saying that you don't have to exercise and all you have to do to lose weight is to sleep it off. Exercise, strength training and physical activities in general are vital components of a permanent weight loss program.
It's simply that if you don't sleep enough, you'll just be making it more difficult for yourself to lose the extra weight. There's no point in sabotaging your chances of weight loss success if it's a simple matter of making sure you get enough sleep every night, right? I mean, how much easier can it get?
According to William Dement, Stanford University sleep researcher, adults need about 8 hours of sleep a night. Try your best to get this amount every day, and you'll reduce one more obstacle in your path to attaining your desired ideal weight. Simple idea, isn't it?

Exercise and weight loss for life – The magic formula doctor’s don’t want you to know!
07.19.05 (8:33 pm) [edit]

Exercise and weight loss for life – The magic formula doctor’s don’t want you to know!
by Greg Ryan - High profile fitness expert!
ATTITUDE #1: IT’S NOT ABOUT THE NUMBERS!
The health clubs are always racking their brains trying to figure out why they have such a hard time keeping members coming back. Most owners would argue that cash flow and profit margins are the most important reason to retain membership. Yes, but what drives customers to these health clubs?
These owners have lost touch with what matters most, the customer! Give the customer more than they expect and they will continue to do business with you. Selling a product or service is about people more so than numbers on a spreadsheet.
SINK HOLES VS. POTHOLES
I want you to think of this principle in your workout. You know it is very easy to get burdened down with all the details of an exercise and diet program. While guidelines are necessary, at times focusing too much on the numbers can and will set you up for failure.
You may start to think all this counting calories, reps, and keeping track of heart rates are too much to accomplish. Unexpectedly, you start to lose sight of your goals and it becomes more of a job than a hobby or stress release. You may even quit exercising. This can be an immediate sinkhole for you.
It would be unrealistic to think you are not going to have some tough days. It’s hard getting in shape. It takes determination and discipline. More importantly, it takes looking over those down days to the end goal. Do not get too worked up about hitting all the numbers on the charts all the time.
ATTITUDE #2: IT’S BEING SOLD OUT! The only way you will follow through on an exercise program is to be sold out. The military calls them “lifers.” These are people who are committed to something for the long haul. Are you a lifer? Could you be a lifer?
A lifer has a sold out mindset. He or she realizes that there will be potholes to go through; there may even be a sinkhole up ahead, but they get through it or they go around the situation. It may take support from others, but it gets done. You may not be a lifer today, but you could be if you don’t make changes now!
DECISION MAKING
I was named Mr. Michigan in the statewide bodybuilding contest in 1988. When I competed in bodybuilding contests, it took me a good month to decide if I really wanted to go for that particular goal. The decision process was well thought out. I realized the days ahead would bring doubt, frustration, pain, and at times, humility. There is a sense of relief that comes with making a decision. Perhaps because once that decision is made, all the pressure is off.
BEING SOLD OUT IS AN ATTITUDE OF THE HEART!
PERSEVERANCE Having a sold out attitude helps you persevere through some of the down times. There were a lot of times I just wanted to quit. But I always remembered that I had made a decision to stay in it for the long haul. My workouts did not have to be perfect all the time, as long as I kept moving forward. I just had to persevere, no matter what! So I did.
SELF- MOTIVATION A small part of all of us needs to be self- motivated. You cannot do it alone. You will always need a good support system; however, somewhere inside a little self- motivation needs to be smoldering to keep the fire going.
SELF – DISCIPLINED Having self-discipline is different than being self-motivated. You can be motivated, but not disciplined. However, you cannot be disciplined without being motivated. No one will or can exercise for you. Nor can they tell you what to eat for the rest of your life. Being self-disciplined requires you to consistently keep the main goal in mind.
ATTITUDE #3: IT’S THE BIG PICTURE Each of you is different. You will put into exercise a certain amount of effort and everyone will get something different from it. You cannot just package good intentions and say, “If you do this or if you buy that, you will receive this in return.” It just doesn’t work that way.
In a nut shell:
While guidelines are needed, try not to get bogged down with the details. Make a decision to make exercise and eating right a priority in your life, even if it is not up to your expectations. Exercise and better eating will give back a very fulfilling life. But you have to keep your eye on the ball. Speed bumps and potholes will always be there in season. The process of avoiding them can be a lot more fun than you can imagine.

Why Do We Cheat On Our Diets?
07.19.05 (1:45 am) [edit]
Why Do We Cheat On Our Diets? by Kim Beardsmore
If only we could solve this question, the world (for many) would be a better place! Well, the reality is that there are real answers to this question that will apply to many people. It will take a good dose of reality and a brave heart to stop denying what really happens. Read on to discover some answers that may change your life forever and give you the impetus to lose weight and keep it off!
Justification?
Being overweight can be used as an excuse for being unhappy, especially when you do not do anything to help yourself. Subconsciously, over-eating is a comfort for many people and this then allows them to hide behind their weight problem and helps them to justify rejection and avoid being hurt. They can then shift the blame of rejection on their weight-problem, without addressing other aspects of their fears. Sometimes it seems easier to hide behind your “weight problem”, than address other matters where you may have a greater fear of failure.
Eating Without Thinking?
If you are concentrating on another activity while you are eating you are more likely to overeat because you are not fully aware of how full you are feeling. This factor can be difficult to change because it is not a conscious action. Try to only eat when you don’t have a lot of other distractions. Sit down, eat slowly and enjoy the food you are eating, and remember that it is not always necessary to go back for seconds. It takes 20 minutes for food to reach your stomach and for your brain to register that you are full.
Cravings?
The famous “Pavlov’s dogs” were conditioned to eat at the sound of a bell, and we human are much the same when it comes to habitual cravings. If you wonder why you always feel like a chocolate when you sit down to watch a movie, or you have to have a box of popcorn….think again. You are not necessarily craving these foods because you are hungry, but rather consider force of habit. During the time when you have a craving, try to ask yourself whether you are really hungry or not. If you are hungry, reach for a low fat snack rather than a chocolate bar or bag of crisps.
Indulging?
Eating or thinking about food can be a distraction from your troubles and you may therefore be unnecessarily over-eating. Emotions and hormones can trigger certain cravings, for example, if you are feeling low, chocolate and carbohydrates assist the production of serotonin in your brain. Serotonin helps you feel happier. This is why we might crave sweet or starchy foods during times of sadness or stress.
If you identify with any of the above factors, you could be on your way towards discovering what is triggering you to overeat.

Lose Weight NOW! – Do or Die Time!

Lose Weight NOW! – Do or Die Time! by Greg Ryan - Fitness Expert
Some of you will not like what I have to say, even though it is the truth. And that may be where the problem of American’s health problems lies. No one wants to give you the truth. My responsibility as a high profile fitness expert lies not in if you like me, or even if you buy my e books. My responsibility lies in giving you straight talk with no sugar coating it.
You want quick fixes to your health problem that has taken years to develop. You get it by purchasing gimmicks that promise you fast results. You fall for it, and at the end of the day you are more frustrated than every. Why? Because you are denying the root of your problems.
I have counseled thousands of people over my twenty year tender as a personal trainer, health club consultant and best selling author. And in all my travels, the answers to people’s problems with weight come down to one thing: it’s a matter of choice!
My approach with people is, either you pay a price now or you will pay a bigger price down the road. I am really tired of dancing around and trying to pat people on the back and say, “It’s OK you can do it.” When all the while, most I know are in the least bit serious about their health, and have no idea what they are in for down the road.
If you are on the fence of whether or not to start an exercise and weight loss plan, I suggest you either become hot or cold. None of this luke warm stuff. You, America is on the verge of a health crisis. The longer you wait the more of chance you have of having a disease.
You also have a matter of choice on all these gimmicks out there. Don’t waste your money on products that are not long lasting and do not teach you anything. I know you want fast results but you will just waste your money. Let me remind you, until you deal with your approach to weight loss the other is pie in the sky. Here are the keys to weight loss:
Determine HOW you are motivated
Determine the REASONS behind the unwanted behaviors.
Develop a great support system
Eat for fuel not for taste
Keep being active.
Here is a portion of one of my e books at www.resolutions.bz I didn’t have much time to pack my bags that day; matter of fact, I‘m still wearing the same clothes I put on that morning.
I met all three of them on the way up here. They said they would hitch a ride, but they were not sure they would be welcome where I was going.
I thought it was unusual to learn how much they knew about me. Did I meet them at some restaurant my family and I went to? Did I see them at the doctor’s office? I know, maybe it was at a bunko party or the golf course? I just couldn’t put my finger on how I knew them until today.
It’s pretty nice here though—peaceful, always something to do, good conversation. However, I sure miss my family. I wish I didn’t have to leave them soon, but how would I have known?
The three of them said they warned me time and time again. How? When? Where? I wondered. I thought I read all the right books and talked to the right people. I even participated at times.
Lazy was probably the one I got along with the best during that short time we spent together. He was the only transparent one of the three. Others might have thought if they saw us together we were twins. We were so much alike.
The other two were much more reserved and timid. Don’t let those guys fool you. I learned quickly they were stubborn old boys with rough edges—two of the biggest know-it-alls I had ever met. They called themselves Denial and Pride. And if you ever met them, I think you would agree they were named correctly.
As I crossed the line, I will never forget what they said to me as we raised our hands to each other and waved goodbye, “If only you had known.”
DON’T LET THIS BE YOU! START TODAY! LET ME HELP YOU!

Understand the Science of Obesity And You're On Your Way To Conquer It

Understand the Science of Obesity And You're On Your Way To Conquer It by: Wan Ibrahim Yusoff

Many people think obesity means that a person is overweight, but that's not exactly true. An overweight person has a surplus amount of weight that includes muscle, bone, fat and water. An obese person has a surplus of body fat. Body Mass Index (BMI) is commonly used to determine if a person is obese or not. A person with a BMI over 30 is considered to be obese, and a BMI over 40 is considered to be severely obese.
Factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, genetics and certain medical disorders cause obesity, but it can be conquered.
Eating Disorder
Obesity itself is not an eating disorder, but people who are obese or who fear becoming obese may develop one. There are three type of eating disorder:-
Binge eating - binge eaters eat uncontrollably and quickly eating an unusually large amount of food at one sitting. They eat mostly sugar and fat. As a result, they may lack certain vitamins and nutrients.
Bulimia nervosa - bulimics binge eat, usually in secret, then purge to get rid of the calories just eaten. They may also exercise intensely for long periods of time to burn off the extra calories, or they may go for long periods of time without eating.
Anorexia nervosa - anorexics literally starve themselves due to an intense fear of being fat. Their bodies are severely depleted of nutrients. As a result, they develop muscular atrophy, dehydration, low blood pressure and organ damage to name a few. Because anorexia is so life threatening, the first stage of treatment is getting body weight back to normal. Treatments for eating disorder include therapy and medications.
Fat & Cholesterol
For years we heard that a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet would keep us healthy and help us lose weight. And many of us jumped on the bandwagon, eliminating fat and high-cholesterol foods from our diets. Well, unfortunately, we were doing it all wrong.
Instead of eliminating fat completely, we should have been eliminating the "bad fats," the fats associated with obesity and heart disease and eating the "good fats," the fats that actually help improve blood cholesterol levels.
Dietary Treatments
Americans spends millions of dollars each year on diet books, products, and weight-loss plans. But, why aren't they working? Because people are doing the wrong things! These popular diets often offer promises of quick weight-loss with no hunger, and the majority of those dieters who do succeed end up gaining the weight back within a year.
It's important to remember that your weight should be lost gradually. When you first start dieting, you will probably lose more water weight, therefore you may be losing more pounds initially. But, if you're doing it right, your weight loss will slow down to an average of one to two pounds per week. You can only lose three pounds of fat per week, anything over that is water loss or muscle loss.
Medical Treatments
In some instances health professionals will perform weight-loss surgery. As with any surgery, it comes with many risks, and it's not a solution for everyone. In order to qualify for surgery, most people must be severely obese or obese with serious medical conditions.
Drug therapy is available for people with a BMI 30 or over with no medical conditions or for people with a BMI of over 27 with two or more obesity-related conditions.
Natural Alternatives
Many prefer to utilize natural alternatives rather than resorting to appetite suppressants and surgical procedures, it's often more healthy. The alternatives include detoxification and live-food diet, low-carb high protein diet and ayurveda. All natural alternatives require some form of exercise.
Exercise
Exercise is vital to shedding excess weight and keeping it off. Any regular exercise that raise the heart rate for at least a half hour straight, will do wonders for your body. Simply taking a walk, starting slow, then working your way up to power walking, is an excellent method of exercise.
Behavioral Changes
Changing your behavior is a key component to conquering obesity. Crash diets that cause people to lose weight drastically almost always backfire because there is no change in behavior and habits. Obesity is a lifestyle, and conquering obesity is a lifestyle also. Losing focus is a common problem with those who are trying to lose weight and keep it off.

Generic Meridia
06.05.05 (9:03 pm) [edit]
Meridia

What is Generic Meridia ?
Generic Meridia is a drug taken for the management of obesity, weight loss and maintenance of weight loss. It should be taken in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet.Generic Meridia is recommended for obese patients with an initial body mass index > 30 kg/m2 or > 27 kg/m2 in the presence of other risk factors (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia). Body mass index is calculated by taking the patient`s weight, in kg, and dividing by the square of the height of the patient, in metres.
How Generic Meridia Works? Meridia works by acting on the appetite control center in the brain. Studies have shown that using Generic MERIDIA, along with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise, helped patients lose weight and maintain weight loss for up to two years. The active ingredient in Generic MERIDIA, sibutramine, works in the area of the brain that signals the sense of fullness (satiety).1 Generic Meridia does not suppress appetite, which is your signal to start eating.Generic Meridia blocks the re-uptake of the brain chemicals (serotonin and norepinephrine) which help regulate the sense of fullness.1 Fullness is your signal to stop eating. Having a sense of fullness, or satiety, means you may feel satisfied with less food. Sibutramine should be used in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet. Always consult your physician before beginning any diet or exercise program.
Who should take Generic Meridia?
Generic MERIDIA is recommended for:Overweight people with an initial Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher orOverweight people with a BMI of 27 or higher if they have medical risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol.BMI is an indicator of total body fat, which can be related to the risk of certain diseases and premature death. Your doctor can tell you if your BMI meets these criteria and if Generic Meridia might be right for you.
What to Expect on Generic Meridia? All too often it’s said, “you didn’t gain it overnight, so don’t expect to lose it overnight.” While that may be true, it’s sometimes hard to accept. We all want quick results. But when it comes to losing weight, patience really is a virtue–losing weight gradually (one to two pounds per week), while changing your eating habits, gives you a much better chance of keeping it off. Every person will respond differently to Generic MERIDIA when used as part of a comprehensive weight-loss program. You may be able to lose four or more pounds of body weight in the first month you take Generic MERIDIA. If you find that you do not lose at least four pounds during the first month, you should notify your doctor so he or she can re-evaluate your therapy. Your doctor may wish to change your dose of Generic MERIDIA. Most people who lose weight on Generic MERIDIA plus diet and exercise lose it in the first six months of treatment. A scientific study that lasted two years showed that over 40% of the people who lost weight in the first six months and remained on Generic MERIDIA therapy plus diet and exercise maintained their weight loss. Most importantly though, be patient. Remember when you lose weight quickly, you often gain it back. Losing weight slowly, while changing your eating habits, gives you a much better chance of keeping it off.
